The municipality of Gräfelfing is located south of Pasing, the westernmost district of the state capital Munich. Gräfelfing is connected to the local transport network of the metropolitan area via the Lochham and Gräfelfing stops on the S6 S-Bahn line. There is also a fast connection via the A96 and Munich Airport can be reached quickly in less than 30 minutes. Gräfelfing is characterized by detached houses and small apartment buildings with large gardens. The municipality does not currently designate any new building areas, so that new living space can only be created through redensification or by renovating older houses. This will preserve the charming character of Gräfelfing for the future. The large wooded areas in the south and west of the municipality offer a high local recreational value and are ideal for relaxing and finding peace and quiet away from the dynamic life of the nearby town.
